We are currently creating a pipeline for Health & Safety manager roles that we will be recruiting for across several Government Organisations and Contracting Authorities in the coming weeks / months.

As Health & Safety Manager, you will: 

• Champion health, safety and support the delivery of a positive health, safety culture.

• Advise and provide guidance in relation to health, safety requirements and systems development

• Advise and support the development of arrangements for managing design and construction activities

• Maintain and develop improvement of health and safety systems, policies, procedures and work instructions to improve efficiency

• Co-ordinate effective independent oversight of adherence to health, safety standards, and the investigation, reporting and effective resolution of non-conformance

• Support management of regulatory relationships, interactions and relationships with ONR, and HSE on health, safety and welfare matters.

You’ll have:

• A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional qualification
• Full membership of an appropriate Professional Institution
• Significant understanding of health, safety and welfare best practice and proven experience of successfully developing and implementing health and safety improvement plans
• Understanding of behavioural approaches to safety and the relevant of human factors to ensuring safety
• Significant experience of implementing health and safety management systems, developing reliable and resilient safety systems and processes, writing procedures and writing reports
• Experience of investigating the direct and root causes of health and safety incident and near misses to identify recommendations and actions to prevent recurrence

It would be great to also have:

• Experience of undertaking health and safety inspections, audits and using them with safety performance indicators to monitor organisational performance and target improvement activities
• Experience of developing and delivering health and safety inductions, training and briefings to a range of staff at all levels
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with a range of staff at all levels
