Project Manager Inside IR35

Contract Term: 11 months  

Contracting Authority: DEFRA

Location: Hybrid with 2 days a week in London (Tuesday and Thursday)

The NDV project team is developing business cases for delivery of the next phase of delivery on the Thames Estuary; we are developing a 15-year programme, designing the operating model and governance, and we are making the commercial arrangements.

As a Project Manager your main responsibilities will be to: 

  • Oversee the delivery of the project to ensure that objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Play a key role in project governance, working with stakeholders to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable the projected benefits to be realised.
  • Design the project structure appropriate to stage, selecting and applying relevant delivery methodologies.
  • Ensure benefits are identified, understood, measured, tracked, and owned. Identify and monitor project risks and issues.
  • Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate

You’ll have relevant experience in:

  • Delivery of projects, governance, and risk control frameworks.
  • Delivering projects in Flood Risk Management, or the Water Industry or Waterways (navigation assets)
  • Other infrastructure and construction sectors will be considered (e.g. Highways, Rail, Utilities) as well as experience from change or transformation projects
  • CDM regulations, “CDM Client” role.
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner / Project or Programme Management qualification or qualified by experience

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of the 5-case model and business case development and assurance would be beneficial.
  • Experience of using NEC4 contracts And Microsoft Project scheduling tool
  • Degree level or equivalent in an engineering, environmental or geography related discipline.
  • Working towards Chartered membership of a relevant professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, APMP
