As a Change Manager, your main responsibilities would be: 

  • Leads business change, transformation projects, and Senior Leadership Team governed change activity, to achieve cost reduction and service improvements for GMP.
  • Designs and commissions innovative solutions to change requirements and promotes transformational change and innovation.
  • Manages business change activity across a spectrum of areas including, technical, people, process, behaviour and culture.
  • Delivers a high-quality project management service on behalf of GMP to ensure the realisation of organisational benefits.
  • Manages multiple change projects through all stages from inception to completion and ensures that each assigned project delivers the required products specified constraints of cost and time.
  • Promotes the case for change and all the activities delivered by the Change and Transformation Branch.


You’ll have relevant experience in:

  • Ability to lead transformational change projects, setting direction, pace and ensuring the delivery of benefits to the organisation.
  • Ability to deal with high degrees of complexity, ambiguity and changes to business focus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop, maintain and enhance relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence decision making at a senior level.
  • An enquiring mind and a track record of delivering innovation.
  • Able to work effectively with senior officers and/ staff to embed programme governance and management.
  • Able to collaborate with business change owners, other stakeholders and business analysts to develop robust and effective programme management approaches.
  • Demonstrates the skills and experience required to represent the Change Branch and GMP in liaison, discussion and negotiation at a senior level stakeholders Commitment to ongoing and continuous professional development in terms of programme management best practice.
  • Actively seeks out and maintains effective internal and external networks to keep up to date with business change solutions, changing technology, innovation and transformation opportunities in the public and private sector, to help inform solutions and options for GMP business change.
  • Exhibits proactive problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
  • Displays a passion for change and a drive for improvement and is able to motivate others to achieve sustainable change.
  • Has credibility and displays sound business acumen and political awareness.
  • Ability to lead the design of creative and new change solutions to deliver transformational benefits to the organisation.
  • Ability to develop robust business cases and option appraisals for consideration by Project and Programme Boards.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision or direction.
