SC Cleared Business Case ManagerInside IR35

Contract Term: 3 Months with possibility of extension

Contracting Authority: MOD

Location: Portsmouth

As a Business Case Manager, your main responsibilities would be: 

  • Developing Infrastructure Requirements for capital projects in conjunction with Capability Owners, including challenging the requirements.
  • Working within the organisation and their supply chain in the identification of options, analysing and down-selecting of options, developing the preferred option(s), developing all required approvals documentation, including Business Cases, Review Notes and Information Notes, in accordance with the Department (and where necessary wider Defence) processes, procedures and templates, in order to deliver major capital projects.
  • Developing Business Cases often to tight deadlines, engaging with relevant stakeholders  to provide project objectives, benefits, cost analysis, projected time scales and associated risks.
  • Ensuring all business case documentation is fully compliant with internal policy and procedures. Collaboratively and pro-actively manage business cases through the department's internal governance process and/or external governance if necessary.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of projects against agreed timelines/milestones, working with Major Projects Portfolio team to address/mitigate any delays, adjusting forecasts where necessary and updating the IPMO and Customers.

 

 

You’ll have relevant experience in:

  • Developing business cases within a defence environment
  • Articulating a requirement succinctly and coherently 
  • Raising approvals, challenging user requirements where required and developing options
  • Strong Stakeholder engagement skills

 

You will also have these Qualifications/Skills:

  • SC level clearance or higher
  • Experience within a Defence environment
