Technical Business Analyst (Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 11 Months (March 2025)

Contracting Authority: The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office

Location: Glasgow or London – Hybrid Working

You will work within the Digital & Technology function alongside Product Managers, User Researchers, Architects and Service Designers to define and drive our ground-breaking products and services.

 

As a Technical Business Analyst your main responsibilities will be to: 

  • Work closely with our User Researchers, Product Managers, Technical Experts and Service Designers to help define our partner-facing and internal products and services.
  • Undertake research and analysis to understand how a customer or service works, considering the organisational structure, people, processes, data and technology.
  • Understand any legislative and organisational constraints that need to be considered and assess the implications.
  • Collect, collate and make sense of complex and disparate sources of information repeatedly and consistently.
  • Identify and elaborate user and business needs with the correct level of acceptance criteria, to enable effective design, development and testing of products, services and business change.
  • Document business processes including carrying out as-is and to-be process analysis.
  • Identify areas for improvement, explore feasible options, analyse the effects of change and define success measures.
  • Help to ensure new products and services meet user needs and are aligned with organisational goals.

 

You’ll have relevant experience in:

  • SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
  • Collaborated with colleagues in a complex digital and technology environment.
  • Run and facilitated workshops using excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Carried out research and analysis with or within an organisation to identify user needs or process improvements.
  • Used agile or lean tools for managing epics, user stories, tasks and bugs, e.g. Jira, Confluence.
  • Documented business processes including carrying out as-is and to-be process analysis.
  • Analysed the effects of change on products and / or services.
  • Worked on a number of different projects at once.
  • Used your knowledge of a legislative or organisational constraint to inform and / or affect a decision.
