As Assistant Junior Accountant you will: 

• Support the busy Ministry of Defence Director General Finance and Chief Operating Officer Finance Business partner teams in the delivery of finance services to these Business Areas
• Be the focal point within the business area for the bills and payments, raising invoices for the business unit and processing relevant forms for the refund of miscellaneous personal payments
• Maintain accurate records and applying the appropriate scrutiny to all transactions
• Support business managers on all contracting, purchasing and finance issue
• Provide financial/budgetary advice as appropriate
• Support the financial forecast preparation and enter relevant information into the appropriate systems on a timely basis
• Ensure the business areas are provided accurate financial information and Management Information
• Help with the preparation of monthly reports for the Business Area and Financial Business Partners

You’ll have:

• A valid and active SC Clearance
• Experienced in supporting financial teams with all accounting activities
• Strong understanding and knowledge around Microsoft Office and in particular Excel
  
  

It would be great to also have:

• Previous MOD or public sector experience
• Ability and experience of using excel to analysis data sets
• An accounting qualification or be part-qualified
