The Home Office covers three systems: Homeland Security, Public Safety and Borders, and Immigration and Citizenship. These systems work collaboratively to deliver our cross-cutting priorities, whilst providing increasingly efficient and secure services for the public. The Home Office is looking to implement an Identity Access Management programme to manage and control individuals access to data and assets. The IAM programme will establish a sustainable and joined-up IAM service that provides the right access to the right data and systems at the right time for those people either working with or for the Home Office, including employees, contractors, third parties and other government departments. Within this programme, there are multiple work packages that will require successful delivery.
The IAM Lead Engineer will be expected to take charge of engineering work within the IAM programme. You will be responsible for ensuring that engineering work can be done effectively, relying on context provided by the IAM Architects and other workstreams. You will be expected to lead and supervise a team of multiple Lead Engineers, Business Analysts, and Test Engineers.
You will also put in place a comprehensive and ongoing KT plan to train up existing civil servants who will have a comprehensive background in either DevOps or Development to bring this team up to speed.

As a IAM Engineer Lead your main responsibilities will be: 

• Supporting the IAM tooling implementation against strategy; leading multiple engineering teams in line with our architecture and professions
• Supporting the Business analysts and other technical Engineers in formulating technical requirements for integration with the IAM tooling.
• Leading the Technical Engineers in translating the technical requirements into integration design.
• Reviewing integration design.
• Overseeing the technical integration development by the Technical Engineers.
• Leading the team and contributing to building a strong technical talent pool; coaching and mentoring as necessary.
• Ensuring the engineering activities undertaken in teams under your supervision are following suitable standards.
• Supporting technical decision making, feeding into roadmaps and overall strategy for the Application/system integration with the IAM tooling. Presenting decisions up and down the programme clearly.
• Coordinating with other workstreams within the programme to form an overall community, acting as the central point of contact in your area and leading collaborative efforts. 

You’ll have relevant experience in: 

• Enterprise Identity and access management with a focus on Identity governance.
• Active SC Clearance
• Technical design and implementation within IAM and/or adjacent area technology solutions such as SailPoint IDN, CyberArk, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft AD or ServiceNow Access management module.
• Software deployment and change management process.
• Agile software development and deployment delivery model.
