We are currently creating a pipeline for Information Security Manager roles that we will be recruiting for across several Government Organisations and Contracting Authorities in the coming weeks / months.

As Information Security Manager, you will: 

• Work with the Programme Management Leads to ensure the overall transition and delivery of services meets the security requirements of the Authority
• Work with the delivery managers on the programme to ensure that the sub-programme and all projects within it have a usable and up to date project plan that reflects the delivery of appropriate security controls
• Support and oversee the delivery of technology aspects of the security requirements and strategy of the Authority from the Digital Foundations Programme suppliers
• Lead and provide input to the security options and analysis of supplier solutions
• Manage both the inter-dependencies and the interfaces between projects from an information security perspective
• Act as a point of escalation for security related issues, risks and concerns within the Digital Foundations Programme
• Apply a pragmatic and “security by design” approach to all aspects of the role, ensuring that security is an enabler to the business

You’ll have:

• Knowledge of Information and IT Security broadly, including in-depth knowledge and practice of security architecture development, security threat technical analysis, security solutions evaluation and selection, security solutions engineering and front-line security operations
• Expert knowledge and understanding of information security in the public sector
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR and related legislation
• Knowledge of HMG Security Policy Framework
• Experience of using NHS Digital Data Security and protection toolkit
• Detailed knowledge of principal technical IT and security standards, including encryption standards, IETF RFCs for security functions, etc. is essential
• In depth understanding of trends in security threats, analysis of major publicised incidents and IT trends as they relate to security threats is essential
• Detailed understanding of the implementation and operation of key security technologies, including anti-malware (simple and advanced), network perimeter and firewall, monitoring, encryption, intrusion detection, behavioural analysis, information protection, authentication, identity management and security testing

It would be great to also have:

• Appropriate security qualifications and memberships (e.g. ISO27001 Lead Auditor, CISSP, CISM, etc.)
