Portfolio Manager Inside IR35

Contract Term: 10 months

Contracting Authority: DSIT/ UKSA

Location: Hybrid 2-3 days a week in either London/ Harwell/Cardiff/ Leicester/ Swindon

The responsibilities for the DSIT are: 

 

  • Positioning the UK at the forefront of global scientific and technological advancement 
  • Driving innovations that change lives and sustain economic growth 
  • Delivering talent programmes, physical and digital infrastructure and regulation to support our economy, security and public services. 
  • R&D?funding

As a Portfolio Manager your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Working with Corporate Strategy & Planning and business areas to implement ways to identify, categorise and prioritise new work elements for a decision on entry to the portfolio and provide regular updates on the pipeline to Delivery Board
  • Establishing and running portfolio-level change control
  • Supporting the development and application of portfolio prioritisation approaches for the Agency
  • Working with project teams to co-ordinate business case production, ensuring appropriate specialist input and timing of approval
  • Developing and maintaining a multi-year year investment delivery roadmap
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of a Benefit Management Framework
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure that portfolio activities are aligned to the Benefit Management Framework 

You’ll have relevant experience in: 

  • Recent experience of portfolio planning and prioritisation across complex environments
  • Expertise in portfolio planning tools and techniques.
  • Significant experience in portfolio management and organisation-wide benefit realisation
  • A good working knowledge of Management of Portfolios

 

Desirable: 

  • Experience of grant management
  • Analytical and presentational skills to articulate the position and forecast of the portfolio highlighting risks, issues and opportunities.
  • MOP or equivalent experience
