We are currently searching for Information Security Officers that we will be recruiting for on behalf of the Department for Health and Social Care for a 3-month initial contract. This role can be worked fully remotely.

As an Information Security Officer, you will:

 

  • Conduct reviews of and create security implementation guidance documentation, including drafting procedures, processes and security briefings, to ensure that requirements from governance are reflected
  • Communicate effectively with relevant teams and senior stakeholders within the different Divisions to ensure they recognise the importance of security considerations and respond accordingly to changes in policy and procedure
  • Initiate and oversee internal investigations into activities on systems and services and ensure that these are conducted with utmost integrity
  • Work on remedial solutions and ensure resolution activities are carried out through liaising with the appropriate divisional or functional stakeholders
  • Work with technical teams to support the continuous security improvement of designated systems and networks and the recording of security events and incidents to highlight system and network errors and support investigations

 

You’ll have:

  • Proven experience of developing security implementation guidance documentation, working in line with best practice principles for information security and risk management
  • Experience of developing technical knowledge in order to understand the security impacts of any changes, and applying yourself to manage these
  • The ability to absorb potentially large amounts of conflicting information and use it to produce recommendations and solutions, leveraging analysis to enhance business performance
  • Strong stakeholder skills in order to communicate and influence colleagues around the impact of security issues
  • Ideally, the ability to manage risk management and audit tools
  • Ideally, the ability to diagnose and devise innovative solutions for resolution activities
  • Ideally, possess an understanding of Lean, Agile and DevOps principles within a Product-centric delivery model
