Stakeholder Manager Community of Practice (inside IR35

Contract Term: 12 months (potential extension)

Contracting Authority: Cabinet Office

Location: 2-3 days a week in London, Manchester. York Glasgow, Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool or Norwich

Team meetings will be in London or Manchester

To fully leverage the benefits of the Procurement Act 2023, it is key that the nationwide central government and wider public sector commercial and procurement population, is aware of the changes to legislation the Act brings and has a transition plan underway to deliver the benefits these changes enable.

The Commercial Capability team has developed and will deliver a comprehensive package of guidance, learning and development to support procurement communities to ensure that the new regime is effectively embedded.

The role holder will be delivering a ‘best practice’ approach in a hybrid environment (virtual or face to face)you must be able to evidence a strong understanding of stakeholder management and ideally the commercial landscape/ lifecycle.

As a Stakeholder Manager Community of Practice your main responsibilities would be: 

• Support organisations in the planning and preparation for the implementation of the new Act leading into work supporting the strategy, design, delivery and execution of the Communities of Practice product for the programme.
• Continuously grow, support and nurture key procurement stakeholder relationships through specific designed and developed 121, team or group workshops, or programmes.
• Organisation of community meetups.
• Analysing and delivering insights from workshops and learning sessions
• Support the community through consistent and continuous communication with contracting authorities in order to understand user needs.

• Develop close and collaborative internal relationships with colleagues in the Commercial Policy and Learning and Development teams within Cabinet Office.
• Independent responsibility to engage and develop key identified stakeholder groups across the Wider Public Sector, Central Government or Suppliers, supporting and enhancing their Procurement Act knowledge.
• To work with Subject Matter Experts to create community collateral.
• Provide feedback, advice and input into the programme.
• Maintaining up to date sector knowledge through Continuing Professional Development (CPD), demonstrating commercial awareness and applying knowledge, experience and skills effectively.

You’ll have relevant experience in:

• Stakeholder management experience
• Knowledge of the Public Sector Procurement process
• Experience Organising and running events/Workshops around Commercial best practice.
• Professional gravitas with interpersonal skills enabling rapport building with a range of stakeholder.
• Comfortable delivering to large internal audiences.
• Ability to think on your feet and flex your style to the audience based on their learning needs.
• Strong analytical skills
• High attention to detail and a strong desire to deliver a top-quality customer experience.
• Strong organisational skills with programme delivery (planning and execution) in a range of areas
• Ability to deliver on time and to the highest quality even in ambiguous circumstances.
• High level of IT skills including experience with a range of Microsoft IT packages.
