We are currently recruiting Digital Product Manager Senior role on behalf of the Ministry Of Justice based in Sheffield or London.

The Manage My Progress team is part of the Probation Reform Programme.

This team will focus on the service user’s (offender’s) needs within the probation process from first probation appointment to the end of their sentence. The outcome of which is to reduce re-offending by increasing meaningful engagement and participation where the service user is actively involved in the probation process.

Manage My Progress is a digital first service for service users that aims to engage service users with probation and rehabilitative work to reduce recidivism. This service is core to the goal of HMPPS and the probation programme, of reducing re-offending. There is relatively little research that has been done with service users (as we don't have any digital first services they use at present) so a senior product manager - together with a user researcher - is vital to ensure a successful discovery.

As Digital Product Manager Senior, you will: 

• Has demonstrable experience of the early stages of the product lifecycle; Discovery and Alpha. In our experience contractors often come to us with a strength in either this early stage exploration, or later-stage scaling and iteration. We want the former.
• Ideally has worked in the public sector, with experience of taking products through the assessment at the boundary between the stages above. This role is expected to lead the team through Discovery in the first 6-8 weeks, and then complete a service standard assessment.
• Lead, supervise or directly manage a team of Product Managers.
• Lead one or more multi-disciplinary agile delivery teams to deliver excellent new products and/or iterations to existing digital products and/or platforms to meet user needs/user requirements based on a communicable understanding of diverse audience groups.

You’ll have:

• Experience of the managing a product through its full lifecycle
• Previous experience leading, supervising or directly managing a team of Product Managers
• Previous Public sector experience.
• Previous experience in discovery, alpha, beta, live phase, aswel as test prototypes and take things out to market experience.

It would be great to also have:

• Early stage research focus experience
• User research background
• Start up background
