Job description

This role sits at the forefront of identifying, assessing an implementing exciting new data techniques at CCS, including machine learning and artificial intelligence as part of the Data Insights team.

The Data Insights team forms part of the Finance, Planning and Performance directorate and is responsible for providing insight to all parts of CCS, customers and suppliers, as well as maintaining and developing the infrastructure and tools that support this.

The role will be the expert in CCS for all thins machine learning and artificial intelligence, identifying new sources of data and new ways of using existing data to further CCS’s understanding of our customers, our suppliers and our marketplace, working with teams across the organisation and across government, focusing on areas such as:

  • Machine learning tools and models
  • Customer data, churn and predictions
  • Spend data, patterns and trends
  • Disseminating knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence and other new approaches to data across Data Insights

 

As AI & Machine Learning Lead, you will: 

  • Identify and operationalise new data sources that provide additional insight to colleagues across CCS
  • Identify and exploit opportunities to use machine learning to drive insight and improve decision-making at CCS
  • Ensure alignment with CCS’s data strategy and maximising the impact of new data tools and techniques
  • Produce predictive models and measures for use by CCS reporting teams
  • Improving CCS’s understanding of customer journeys using unstructured data and developing predictive algorithms
  • Managing one customer behaviour analyst, setting their direction and building their skills

 

You’ll have:

  • Proven expertise in modern cloud-based data infrastructure and tools
  • Proven expertise in all stages of machine learning, including data gathering, preparation, model selection, training, evaluation, tuning and predicting
  • Experience of agile project management and delivery
  • Proven expertise in government commercial and finance structures and procedures
  • Proven ability to conceptualise complex data flows and system interfaces quickly and clearly
