Please note this role will require candidates to be willing to work between the hours of 7am and 10pm on a "5 day on 3 day off" shift pattern.

 

We are currently searching for Operations professionals on behalf of the Department for Transport based in London.

The Bronze Operations coordinates the operational aspects of the DfT response; this includes resourcing, action tracking and meeting the ad-hoc needs of response staff.

As Bronze Operations Coordinator, you will: 

  • Ensuring that the response is working effectively, that information is flowing to the correct teams in a timely manner, and that X-HMG or Ministerial actions are being captured and progressed.
  • Direct management of inbox managers, action managers, and logistics manager.
  • Owning the response battle rhythm, working with Silver Ops to ensure that it is proportionate and effective.
  • Triage IT issues, tasking the Logistics Manager and engaging specialists as necessary and actively escalating this if necessary.
  • Liaison point for the Devolved Administrations.
  • Setting up and providing secretariat function for co-ordination calls.
  • Oversight of the Daily Information Pack.

You’ll have:

  • Line management experience
  • Excellent prioritisation skills, including the ability to work to extremely short deadlines.
  • The ability to respond quickly, calmly, and flexibly under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to process large amounts of complex information in a short period of time and isolate  key points.
  • The ability to draw connections between varied subject areas.
  • The ability to critically evaluate and sense-check information across a range of different subject areas.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to engage and influence a range of internal stakeholders of varying seniority.
  • Proficiency with Office 365 suite of products in particular Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.


It would be great to also have:

  • A general understanding of UK transport networks and the work of the Department.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment often under pressure
