Business Case Writer - Inside IR35

Contract Duration: 3 – 12 months

Contract Authority: Public Sector Resourcing

Location: Remote, Hybrid & UK Wide

The main duties and responsibilities of a Business Case Writer would be:

  • Working with projects and programmes to plan and draft business cases, taking responsibility for ensuring that they comply with relevant standards under the Project Delivery Framework methodology and guidance.
  • Devising and providing guidance and advice to project/ programme teams on the requirements and development of business cases, using organisational templates and the HM Treasury 5 case model.
  • Ensuring that relevant organisational factors for change are incorporated within a comprehensive business case, and that there is a clear rationale for preferred options.
  • Ensuring that business cases are written accordingly to retain validity throughout the project and funding lifecycle, updating project sponsors as required.
  • Share expert knowledge and experience to support the upskilling of the wider Business Case team
  • Establishing the initial operating capability for the Business Case as a Service offering
  • Providing business case support and guidance

 

You’ll have:

  • Previous experience of writing high quality business cases
  • Previous experience in project delivery
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage a range of stakeholders across various grades
  • Clear understanding of business case, assurance and approvals requirements and processes
  • General understanding of wider government approvals and assurance processes
  • Understanding of Capability Portfolio Management (previously Adaptive Delivery Model) methodology and agile service delivery models.
  • Proven ability to write digital & technical concepts into plain English
