Job description

We are currently creating a pipeline for Surveyors for future anticipated hiring needs with our contracting authorities. 

Enclosed below is a basic overview of the responsibilities and skills required: -

 

As a Surveyor your main responsibilities will be:

  • Negotiating permanent and temporary access to third party land. Ensuring that land is available for the project delivery team.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide the business with technical leadership on the range of property issues and provide supporting leadership to the wider team.
  • Assist in preparation of estimates for works. Input cost/quantity information into estimating systems and produce reports.
  • Prepare project budget and detailed estimates. Cost plan as necessary during development to meet financial targets.
  • Evaluate and measure the works within the contracted scope; undertake periodic valuations of works in progress as required.  Prepare certificates for payment as required.
  • Prepare final accounts, including validation of contractor submissions by measurement and quantification.
  • Assist in preparation of tender, pricing and contract documentation. Carry out cost analysis of tenders.
  • Undertake under CDM Regulations, as role of Client Representative, Designer and CDM Co-ordinator on behalf of Network Rail in line with company standards.

 

 

Essential:

  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction industry forms of contract.

Desirable:

  • MRICS qualified.
