CE&I Designer (Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 12 Months

Contracting Authority: Sellafield

Location: Cumbria or Warrington

We are currently creating a pipeline for CE&I Designers for future anticipated hiring needs with Sellafield.

Enclosed below is a basic overview of the responsibilities and skills required: -

As a CE&I Designer your main responsibilities will be: 

• To aid in the resolution of equipment obsolescence issues and specification of replacement items, design substantiation of systems and instruments that provide SM or SRE safety functions, designs for modifications to facilitate plant improvements, redline drawings and PMP reviews.
• Processing of TQs, PPs and ACs, etc.
• To undertake plant familiarisation visits/walk downs/surveys as and when required.
• To support more junior members of the team in the production of design packs.

You’ll have:

• Demonstrable experience of participation in teams of CE&I engineers and designers undertaking a wide range of CE&I design packages.
• Evidence of delivering fit for purpose engineering design across the full design cycle.
• A pragmatic approach to problem solving and ability to apply ‘Fit for Purpose Mind-set’ and ‘Engineering Judgement’ where appropriate.
• Good working knowledge of CDM regulations as applicable to the Designer role.
• Awareness of CE&I Safety Systems and Functional Safety (IEC 61508).
• Awareness of Supply of Machinery Regulations.
• Evidence of having a sound working knowledge of CE&I Standards and awareness of relevant, national and international codes, specifications, standards and legislation relevant to CE&I engineering.
• In depth experience in the design of electrical power, lighting, process instrumentation and control systems.
• In depth experience of producing CE&I installation design packages including OIMSs, CDM Risk Assessments and installation drawings: BCDs, configuration, schematics, hook-ups and layouts/ GAs.
• Competency in the use of AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with BS/BS-EN standards; for example, BS7671 Electrical Wiring Regulations.
