Finance/ Business Partner/ Management Accountant (Inside IR35)

This role sits within the Finance Business Partner team and will be a direct link between Finance and corporate functions of Human Resources, Estates, Business Improvement & Assurance, Procurement and the Office of the Chairman & Chief Executive (OCCE), as well as acting as a co-ordinator for reporting of financial data to externally interested stakeholders. The role involves collaborating with and providing support to various stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial and non-financial data for Senior Management.

As
Finance Business Partner/ Management Accountant, you will: 

  • Provide direct support to Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP) in support of the corporate functions and OCCE
  • Provide high quality analysis of financial and non financial data pertaining to the corporate functions and OCCE
  • Provide significant challenge to the budgeting and forecasting information supplied by the corporate functions and OCCE
  • Support Finance Business Partner team in ensuring MCA meets its financial objectives within the MCA 3 year business plan
  • Work with budget holders in ensuring the business understands the financials to make good commercial decisions and drive down costs
  • Ensure shared understanding of cost drivers with budget holders and use this data to produce evidence based forecasts
  • Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial positions; support controls and governance to manage the resource provision
  • Maintain a suitable trail for budget delegations, spend limits, procurement considerations, segregation of duties, compliance with standards and governance requirements
  • Ensure financial information provided to managers is robust to enable them to make informed decisions
  • Double Entry Journals, book keeping and reconciliation to balance sheets

You’ll have:

  • Full membership of CCAB accounting institutes, CIMA or recognised equivalent and compliance with Continuing Professional Development requirement of their professional accountancy body.
  • Experience of General Ledger, Oracle and Financial Systems
  • High level of IT skills (excel to intermediate level as a minimum)
  • MACRO’s experience essential

It would also be great if you had:

  • Public Sector/ Government experience
