Risk and Value Manager

Inside IR35

Contract Term: 6 months

Contracting Authority: Network Rail

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days from London, remainder WFH/Remote)

The role:

This role provides an engaging and challenging opportunity in the Capital Delivery Eastern – Risk & Value Team. Providing specialist Risk & Value Management support and assurance to projects and programmes, supporting the Capital Delivery Eastern operating model.
This is an exciting time to join Capital Delivery Eastern as we continue to progress with our Agile Client model, rising to the challenges the industry faces following the pandemic. The Risk & Value team plays a key role producing quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis to establish confidence of project affordability.

 

As a Risk and Value Manager your main responsibilities will be:

  • Provide leadership and guidance in the concept of R&VM, maintaining their appropriate and effective application to all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Deliver Level 1 Assurance activities as specified by the Principal R&V Manager.
  • Manage &/or deliver specialist R&VM support services as dictated by the R&VM maturity of the project community.
  • Actively promote R&VM culture and improve R&VM competency across the project and programme management community.
  • Monitor the output of others who undertake such R&VM activities to monitor competence, consistency and compliance with Network Rail procedures and provide assurance.
  • Manage the buying in of external R&VM support where necessary and that these are delivered to required quality standards.
  • Maintain a robust view of required levels of R&VM services and assure that suitably qualified & experienced resource is available to meet these requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of ER&VM framework across their area

 

Essential:

  • Demonstrable competence in all aspects of project and business risk management facilitation
  • Demonstrable ability to build complicated cost, schedule and business risk models in a number of applications
  • Recognised either technically or professionally as an R&V expert
  • Demonstrable skills in initiating and building positive working relationships with customers, their team and stakeholders

 

Desirable:

  • Recognised professional qualification in Risk Management e.g. Management of Risk (MoR), IRM Certificate/Diploma etc
