Senior SOC Analyst

Inside IR35.

6 Month Contract

Hybrid - 3 days per week in Office (Darlington, London, Sheffield, Nottingham, Coventry, Manchester, Bristol.

SC/CTC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks

The Department for Education (DfE) is responsible for children’s services and education, including higher and further education policy, apprenticeships and wider skills in England. As a senior SOC Analyst you will focus on

• ·       Develop Analysis processes and playbooks for generic incident types and the 20 most common incidents.
• ·       Generate and implement a triage process and Incident Management system.
• ·       Train and develop junior analysts.
• ·       Conduct detailed cyber security investigations.
• ·       Collaborate with Incident Management and Major Incident Management teams to support the remediation of security incidents

• ·       Report findings and articulate risk to DfE senior management and leadership.
• ·       Tune alerts to ensure to ensure that the total alarm load is within capacity.
• ·       Supervise and Line Manage Tier 1 and 2 analysts.

The ideal senior SOC analyst will have the following skills and experience.

• ·       Experience of working in a SOC at L3 (senior analyst) level.
• ·       Experience of working with multiple sources of threat intelligence.
• ·       Experience of using Splunk
• ·       Experience of developing playbooks
• ·       Experience of leading and mentoring
• ·       Experience of running Purple Teaming exercises
