Digital Delivery Manager (Mobile Application) (Inside IR35)

PSR are seeking an experienced Mobile App Delivery Manager to oversee and be accountable for the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, integrating with other T&T initiatives and delivering as part of the wider T&T Digital portfolio.

As a Mobile App Delivery Manager, you will: 

  • Be Responsible for the definition and execution of a team’s roadmap, highlighting any risks to delivery. You will act as the main point of responsibility and accountability for the delivery of complex products and services that are being created by multiple teams and carry significant technical or political risk
  • Set direction and implement appropriate controls to manage the provision of complex programmes within recognised time, cost and quality standards. You will be expected to manage dependencies, risks, budgets, resources and overcome obstacles to get the best value from a delivery
  • Establish an effective delivery organisation with supporting governance and processes to drive efficiency, pace, continuous improvement, quality and clarity
  • Make and publish clear, pragmatic and manageable delivery plans to ensure all stakeholders are clear on the priorities and timelines for initiatives within the Mobile App team
  • Lead multi-disciplinary delivery teams through all stages of the software delivery lifecycle. Use best practice programme and project management disciplines
  • Collect and interpret best practice agile delivery metrics, act on any trends that emerge, and report upwardly as required
  • Own and manage scope, challenging and pushing back where suitable to drive programme completion and manage change appropriately. Deal with day to day issues, escalating blocking items where necessary
  • Establish and use commercial frameworks to manage suppliers based on performance, accountability and mutual success
  • Set up a culture of continual improvement and feedback, from both a product and process perspective, and ensure that improvements are implemented and evaluated with feedback loops
  • Be visible to staff, support and manage corporate learning within the workforce and build and provide effective leadership to the multi-functional project team.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation focused on adding value to give people space to think creatively

You’ll have: 

  • An expertise in agile, lean practices and kanban, you will understand the core principles of flow, effective delivery metrics and will understand how to use agile techniques at scale
  • Experience in commercial management, communication skills, understanding of product delivery, issue resolution and planning
  • Experience Thriving on getting things delivered and using initiative to remove blockers and maintain delivery progress and focus on the outcome. Someone who is motivated by ‘doing rather than talking’
  • And promotes effective and accurate communications across technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as facilitate discussions within a multidisciplinary team, with diverse backgrounds, points of views and ways of thinking
  • Understanding of all aspects of the software delivery lifecycle, has a breadth of technical understanding relating to mobile app delivery and can balance incremental delivery with supporting a live system
  • Good experience at navigating the organisational context, both at a large scale and local level and can modify the approach accordingly
  • A demonstrable track record in managing delivery at scale on complex IT programmes using a variety of project management frameworks and an ability to adapt based on organisational context
  • The ability to recognise the signs of a project in distress and work with teams on ‘get well’ plans supporting them through the cycle to successful delivery
  • Previous line management and coaching/mentorship experience
  • An understanding of how to motivate and lead multi-disciplinary digital/technology delivery teams formed from staff, suppliers and contractors

It would be great to also have: 

  • 5+ years mobile app software delivery management
