The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a central government department with a mission to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to protect its values and interests abroad.

As an Operating Model Lead your main responsibilities will be: 

• Designing & implementing the Submarine Delivery Agency’s (SDA) operating model project.
• Leading a small team within the Strategy Implementation team to plan for & implement next steps for improving the SDA’s operating model as part of the SDA28 Strategy.
• Working closely with key stakeholders to understand & manage dependencies with other internal change projects to ensure successful delivery of project benefits & project coherence.
• Managing the project effectively, developing and updating key project documents to ensure risks & opportunities are managed and benefits delivered.
• Working with Exec Committee to set design models.
• Identifying aspects of design model improvements required.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement to be considered for this role, therefore you must be willing & eligible to undergo these clearance checks.

You will have:

• Demonstrable experience of delivering major change projects in a complex / large organisation.
• Knowledge of change management principles.
• Experience of leading & successfully implementing operating model improvements.
• Experience of project management principles & their application in delivering change projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills – at all levels, internal & external.
• Public sector / central government experience – ideally within Defence.
• APMG Change Management (Practitioner) – desirable.
