We are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Planner for The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) for a 4-month contract based remotely

The Supply Chain Planner (Swabs & Vials) will oversee the detailed supply planning, supplier coordination and stock allocation of Test Kits for the National Testing Programme (NTP). As supply is an integral component of the NTP we are seeking a dedicated and experienced supply planner to ensure that the right level of  stock is planned and made available for all channels and internal customers including test kit manufacturing, Regional and Local Test Sites and all other testing channels. This role works very closely with Central Supply, Operations and Logistics and the Stock Allocations team.

As Supply Chain Planner, you will: 

  • Generate a supply plan for Test Kits based on the latest demand and fitting requirements. 
  • Execute the delivery of the supply plan, liaising with suppliers on future deliveries, and the logistics team to ensure deliveries are made in line with expectations.  
  • Use Oracle supply planning solution to supply test kits to all regions in line with the forecasted demand. 
  • Liaise?with the warehouse and supply operations teams on inbound stock deliveries to ensure they are OTIF, drive effective receipting in of stock and escalate delayed or missing stock in the appropriate channels.  
  • Continually review the demand for test kits in line with available supply, future supply and demand signals. Able to flex supply to meet last minute requests or changes to demand (e.g. outbreak response).  
  • Engage with the Regional testing team to understand changing demand signals to plan and allocate accordingly, creating an efficient process to avoid costly last minute site to site stock transfers. 
  • Set up new SKUs and sites with the Oracle team to enable automated replenishment when a new test kit comes into circulation or a new site is opened. 
  • Proactively drive improvement in data quality, liaising with the central operations team to flag sites consistently misreporting and working with the Oracle team to ensure the timing of reporting is suitable to planning. 
  • Understand the nuances of complex products such as Test Kit components and their dependencies to allocate across the channels appropriately. 
  • Work with various stakeholders on new Test Kit introductions and work to bring new requests into the supply chain network. 

You’ll have:

  • Experience of supply chain planning techniques 
  • Understanding of Supply Chain principles 
  • Excellent?communication and?organisation skills? 
  • Ability to use analytical tools such as Excel 

It would be great to also have:

  • Substantial supply planning experience 
  • Experience with ERP systems
