We are looking for Research & Evaluation Specialists for 6-month contracts with BEIS, working remotely. Ideal candidates will have public sector experience designing and commissioning large evaluation or social research projects.

 


As a Research & Evaluation Specialist, you will: 
 

  • Work closely with policy and operations colleagues to design and deliver substantial evaluations of schemes, developing the monitoring and evaluation plan;
  • Specify the invitation to tender/terms of reference and commissioning and managing the evaluation;
  • Work collaboratively with other analysts to use the data.

 

 

You will: 

  • Have experience working with a range of process and impact evaluation methodologies;
  • Have experience of quantitative and quantitative research design, data collection, analysis and reporting skills;
  • Have experience of research or evaluation contract management skills covering design, delivery, reporting and promoting learning;
  • Have experience designing and commissioning large evaluation or social research projects;
  • Have experience of theory of change/policy mapping: knowledge and experience of working with policy or delivery teams to develop a theory of change or policy map for their programme;
  • Have experience of advising and influencing policy customers and delivery teams on how to embed monitoring and evaluation into their interventions;
  • Have experience of data sharing agreements and data management and handling;
  • Be comfortable managing a diverse, complex portfolio of work and able to manage work flexibly to adapt as priorities change;
  • Have good written and oral communication skills;
  • Have strong collaboration and partnering skills;
  • Have public sector experience (ideally).
