As a Data Governance Manager your main responsibilities will be: 

• Chairing the ATE Data Working Group.
• Leading on designing and implementing data governance across ATE, including putting in place mechanisms to control data sources.
• Catalogue, monitor and identify data assets that are essential to the organisation’s Dations or services.
• Assign ownership of data, ensuring there is a clear RACI (responsible, accountable, consulted and informed) matrix in the organisation and developing a functional network of data owners and lead engagement with teams across ATE to develop data maturity.
• Incorporate governance of data into routine processes.
• Support or manage risk processes around data.
• Advocate for better use and management of data within the organisation, including delivering internal training as needed to upskill teams of new processes and use of data.
• Encourage better data literacy within the organisation.
• Mapping out ‘as is’ data processes and building ‘to be’ data processes.
• Being a visible leader on data across the organisation.
• Being a member of ATE’s Data, Digital & Analysis Programme Board.

You’ll have relevant experience in:

• Experience of working within a data governance role.
• Experience in governance, planning, resourcing, risk, and people management.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, and skills and experience in one or more project management specialisms including: delivery, planning, assurance, risk management, governance or stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders building capability and confidence with the programme and projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that effectively communicate complex issues to non-expert audiences.
