As Quality Systems and Validation Manager, you will:

be required to work closely with Dstl colleagues (including mentoring juniors), industry partners and MoD customers to ensure that the delivered software products and the framework for their exploitation are fit for purpose. This will entail bringing to bear a wealth of experience and knowledge to influence direction, as well as ensuring deliverables will be readily exploitable on a diverse range of platforms and research projects such as validation of Autonomous functions.

It is particularly important that the candidate has sound knowledge and experience of the full software Lifecyle ideally for aircraft and / or other platform systems software. They must be able to influence others and be able to maintain supplier focus on customer needs even where programmatic pressure may be high. A willingness to mentor junior Engineers is important and experience of assurance for software certification, including Independent Technical Evaluation or Independent Safety Assurance would be highly advantageous.

You’ll have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or other relevant subject, Chartership of a relevant Technical Body
• SC (Security Clearance)
• Programmable Element Assurance
• Software Lifecycle Experience
• Software Certification Experience
• Leadership and Influencing Skills – willing to train and develop JR’s
• Aircraft Systems
• Software Assurance
• Independent Technical Evaluation experience
