Job description

We are currently creating a pipeline for Project Manager roles that we will be recruiting for across several Government Organisations and Contracting Authorities in the coming weeks / months.

As Project Manager, you will: 

  • Ensure the delivery of new products or services from projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the project plan and programme governance arrangements
  • Progress works through the project life cycle, ensuring that best practice and guidance and procedures are adhered to, continually ensuring business justification
  • Manage risks, assumptions, issues and decisions, escalating to the project executive/s and portfolio manager as required
  • Bring together business representatives and stakeholders through project board arrangements, to understand requirements and impacts while ensuring they retain an understanding of progress
  • Regularly report project progress, including forecasting to support portfolio level engagement and communications
  • Liaise with and effectively communicate with key delivery stakeholders from finance, commercial and the wider business to develop relationships and support successful delivery
  • Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders

You’ll have:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Knowledge and understanding of a range of project methodologies and some experience of applying them appropriately in different contexts (e.g. PRINCE2, AGILE)
  • Demonstrable experience of identifying, assessing and managing complex risks and issues
  • Good working knowledge of business case development and procurement processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

It would be great to also have:

  • Experience working in the Public Sector
  • Practitioner level Project or Project Management qualification e.g. MSP,PRINCE2  or equivalent
