As Finance Administrator you will: 

• Support the busy Ministry of Defence Director General Finance and Chief Operating Officer Finance Business partner teams in the delivery of finance services to these Business Areas
• Provide essential budget management support to the business to enable the delivery of financial outputs
• Work with Business unit staff to help prepare the financial forecast and provide financial advice to the Business Area
• Provide financial reports to the Business Partner
• Assist with budget management and ensure resources are allocated as directed by the Business
• Provide financial scrutiny, costings and advice on financial delegation and affordability
• Support the business partner throughout the planning, budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Maintain accurate and timely cost capture
• Support financial forecast preparation and entering relevant information into the appropriate systems. Help to monitor financial performance of the business monthly against the baseline
• Maintain auditable financial records and support Business Partners as required to manage, analyse and monitor financial projects and business case activity
• Assist with the preparation of monthly reports for the business area and Financial Business Partners

You’ll have:

• A valid and active SC Clearance
• A strong finance background
• Experience and use of excel and Microsoft excel

It would be great to also have:

• Previous MOD or public sector experience
• The ability and experience of using excel to analyse data sets
• Hold an accounting qualification
